You can edit this text in the admin by going to Pages > Home > General Content.

You can have some text and an image on every page if you want, along with anything else that might be provided by a Module. If you want to use them in your template you can use the {$sPageInfo} array. So to display this text on the home template you'll see {$sPageInfo.content} in Design > Home > Home Content.
